Nature: My World - Bird's song

finland

italy

Our song, written together with teacher Luca:

FREEDOM IS A NEST

Birds are flying high in the sky

birds are singing in the trees

they don't know borders

swimming in the air

and freedom is a nest

freedom is moving on

and freedom is the wings

no borders no fear

birds are colours

birds are sounds

birds are not a picture

following springtime

and freedom is a nest

freedom is moving on

and freedom is the wings

no borders no fear

and freedom is a nest

freedom is moving on

and freedom is the wings

no borders no fear

Birds fly on the waves

they live between sky and sea

some birds don't fly

still beeing birds

and freedom is a nest

freedom is moving on

and freedom is the wings

no borders no fear

The students invented and created a song talking about the features of the Corysheawater.

They presented the song during the traditional Azorean dinner with the parents, students, teachers and partners.

Parents also prepared some traditional Portuguese songs to show to our European partners.

Last June 4th, in partnership with the Terceira Island Natural Park, Eng. Helder Xavier gave a brief contextualization and description of the cory shearwater. The students of Francisco Ferreira Drummond Integrated Elementary School became aware of the importance of migratory seabirds in the Azores. In this activity, students, carers and partners of the Erasmus + KA2 Project - “Learning by Doing” held an evening session to listen and record the characteristic sound of shearwater in Baía das Mós.
